The guitar is made from laminate woods: Top: Spruce Back / Sides: Mahogany Neck: Mahogany Fingerboard: Rosewood No records were kept and we do not have an exact date for your guitar. If it says Nippon Gakki and a red label your guitar was made in Japan between 1966-1971 Guitars made in Taiwan have either the words Taiwan or Kaohsiung on the label with the colors red and beige (1971-1972.) These guitars were made in the 1966 thru 1972 time frame.These serials will have no letters and start with either 0 or 1. On these guitars, the exact date is unknown as the serial numbers were allocated sequentially among all models being made in a production day, The next guitar off the line regardless of model number got the next serial number.
