Yaesu FT101 & Kenwood TS Series 150uF/500V Filter Capacitor Kit/Upgrade

Description: This auction is for a replacement Filter Capacitor kit for the Yaesu and Kenwood Radio models listed below: Yaesu FT101 (all Models - B/E/EE/EX/F/FE/FX), FT102 FT101 - FT101B - FT101E - FT101EE - FT101F - FT101FE - FT101FX Kenwood TS-510, TS-520, TS-530, TS-820, TS-830 (including S Models of each) and likely many more models These capacitors replace the original 100uF capacitors with 150uF caps which is recommended for filtering Note: While other kits report that they fit the Yaesu FT901 and 902, and it is true that this value of capacitor is also used in the Yaesu FT901 and FT902 - it requires a bit of work to adapt this capacitor to fit as the mounting is very different on this radio - this is the most reasonable and cost effective capacitor for this application, but be prepared to adapt the snap in connections to the long solder terminals - The long solder terminals extend through 2 circuit boards in this radio - see the supplied photo of an FT901 Filter Cap Board in the auction listing - I do not suggest ordering these or any other filter capacitors for this radio unless you have researched and accept the need to make this adaptation as the mounting on these radios is very difficult and the caps are well buried - I will be working on a simplified solution as I am a fan of these radios and have an interest in keeping them running Information and photos are available at the excellent foxtango.org web site This kit includes: 2 x Nichicon 150uF/500v Capacitors (Replacing the original 100uF/500v Units) These are New Production Nichicon GN Series Capacitors Nichicon part # LGN2H151MELC25 2 x 1/2 Watt 470K Ohm Metal Film Resistors (Bleeder resistors used in both Kenwood and Yaesu applications) and 2 x .01uF 1000V Ceramic Capacitors (only used for Kenwood applications) these are 35mm Wide and 25mm tall - they are the correct diameter to fit the stock capacitor mounts perfectly, and they are significantly shorter than stock - they are 3000 hour (at 750ma ripple), 105 degree, +/-20% rated capacitors and are the de-facto standard for cap replacement in these radios These caps are far superior to what was available then, and since these are strained a great deal in operation - these are generally replaced more often than the other caps in the radio - also the originals were only rated for around 1000 hours of operation I only sell capacitor replacement sets, repair kits, accessories and information for Equipment That I Own and/or Service, and have done the replacements myself.
