The wool or wool blend blazer is a very dark blue (almost black) and is in excellent vintage condition, no rips or holes, some minor signs of wear as would be expected of an 80-year-old garment. Very clean. Blazer comes with a pair of military white gloves. The size is 38 Long, neck to bottom is 32 ½ ”, width is 19” (closed) and sleeve length is 26”. The rating insignia (patch on left sleeve) was established in 1885 and then changed in 1904, displaying a three-bladed propeller with one blade pointing down. The gold chevrons with silver embroidered eagle were worn on blue uniforms by all petty officers with 12 years of service with unbroken good conduct. The blazer was manufactured by Davis Clothing Co. in accordance with United States Navy uniform regulations.
