WWII US M1 HELMET liner & Net c. 1944 WW2 army USMC Orig

Description: Antique original USGI WWII United States military World war two military issue M1 steel helmet ( made in 1944 ) Liner And camouflage net Decent Original paint The pot was made by McCord mfg Front seam swivel bail With heat treatment number ‘ 1123f ‘ meaning it was produced in nov 1944 just a few scratches & a tiny unnoticeable dent at the top - NO CHIN STRAPS - ( but those are always available on eBay ) The liner was made by Westinghouse it has decent original paint , no cracks or damage to the shell herringbone twill suspension with black painted ‘A’ washers the webbing is intact , it has a tiny little 1/2 “ tear And is slightly stretched out , from having a sweat band ( no sweat band present ) It has a bit of oxidation on the A washers ( black painted A washers , proper for a late 1944 liner) with I.D. a soldiers name is painted on the left interior ‘ Gavin s. Steinmets “ & his serial number ( the name was painted directly over a previous soliders name - possibly a casualty? ) the net is the typical WW2 1” square pattern A very nice helmet set , WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC COMPANY LINER Manufactured in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvannia this "high pressure" manufactured M-1 helmet liner is identified by an embossed "W" in the crown (which is still Westinghouse's logo to this day). Westinghouse was the largest M-1 helmet liner Company started M-1 helmet liner delivery in May 1942. Westinghouse did have a contract to producce airborne liners and converted an unknown amount to airborne configuration. Westinghouse discontinued production around August 17, 1945 when the war end DO NOT PASS IT UP ! WW2 USA helmets are now getting very hard to find ! Not refinished or messed with !
