Description: This is a very fine World War II U.S. M-1938 Armored Vehicle Tank Crewman’s Helmet that is in excellent field used condition. It is complete with all straps and functional snaps. The helmet retains virtually all its exterior OD green finish and is complete with U.S. Army R-14 receivers in the ear flaps that are wired into a PL-55 phone jack plug. All stitching in the fiber remains solid and intact with a split in the leather at the back just above the stitching. The interior leather is a mellow cream color and is stamped in black ink with, ‘WILSON ATH. GOODS MFG. CO. – CHICAGO, ILL’ encircling the size ‘7⅜’. There are two sets of laundry numbers, ‘B-2579’ and ‘S-2114’ inked into the liner. This is a truly fine example of a very famous piece of World War II headgear that is not often encountered today and one that remains in excellent condition. 9008
