Description: This is an extremely fine World War I Imperial German Kaiserliche Marine U-Boat Badge that is in excellent condition. It is constructed of bronze and depicts a U-Boat within a horizontal oval laurel leaf wreath surmounted by an Imperial Prussian crown. The bronze is with a beautiful, dark olive brown patina. The reverse is with block hinge, wide pin, and round wire catch. The reverse of the wreath is correctly marked with, ‘WALTER SCHOT’ ABOVE, ‘FEC.’ The rear section of the boat is with an angular upper fin and with long upper cross bar on the last letter of ‘SCHOT’ which are characteristic to original Schott marked badges.
