Description: A superb example of a Third Reich era Sports Badge for the German SA Gruppe Hessen Dated 1939 Constructed in pressed silver-coloured cardboard, the circular front bears an upright sword over an outstretched winged eagle with the SA logo at the centre and around the edges runs the legend Gruppenwettkampfe der SA Gruppe Hessen 1939 To the rear can be seen a glued-on steel pin and impressed into the tan carboard back can just be discerned the maker’s mark: RZM M9/60 Paulmann & Crone Ludenschein, Measuring approx. 1.5” across, this stunning badge is in a superb, mint condition with just a small amount on rust on the pin holder at the rear.
