WW1 US Army Complete Wool Uniform Tunic Breeches Overcoat ID Tags Named

Description: Here is a wonderful offering of a named, matching set of authentic World War 1 Allied Expeditionary Force (AEF) soldier’s uniform. It belonged to a Corporal Richard R. Pue of the 71st Infantry Regiment Headquarters, as indicated by his insignia, which was part of the 11th Infantry Division and served in Europe during WW1. The entire uniform is in excellent condition and you’d be hard-pressed to find such a set. It has the tunic coat, breeches, overcoat, and identification tags. Given how dear it is to have all of these items in one place, I am only going to sell them all together…that is the right thing to do to preserve this unique piece of history! Because of that, it all weighs 11 pounds but I don't think the shipping cost is unreasonable. Descriptions and sizes are below:Service Coat Tunic. Excellent condition, only a few moth nibbles but none that constitute a hole. One or two stains/spots (lower back right, lower left pocket) but not detracting from the overall great condition. The liner shows some minor black rub marks, most likely caused from storage. Collar discs indicate enlisted grade, infantry branch–both period correct threaded post. All buttons and clasps are present, are the correct version, and function as required. The left sleeve has a single overseas service chevron above the cuff denoting 6 months-1 year of overseas service. Right sleeve has his Corporal rank chevrons. Corporal Pue’s name is printed on the inside liner, as is a sizing tag of size 36. Measurements (taken while on a mannequin–I am no seamstress but I described below how I measured):Size Tag- 36 (on tag)Chest (arm pit to arm pit) - 20” Length (bottom collar to bottom back jacket) - 39”Sleeve (armpit to bottom cuff - 18” Sleeve (shoulder seam to bottom cuff - 25” Across shoulder (seam to seam) - 17”Breeches. These are in very good shape, no holes, tears, moth nibbles, or stains. Only a few rub marks on the wool surface, barely noticeable. All correct buttons are present, stitched on with correct wool thread and matching, and function as required. The inner waist band has some soiling marking, this is the only place where this is seen. Probably caused by storage. Measurements (taken lying flat)Waist - 34”Inseam - 26” Length - 37”Overcoat. This is a heavy wool overcoat and in great shape. It has a service tag inside stating “O’ Coat, 4, 1 over 2, 40 Breast Long.” It also has Corporal Pue’s name written in the liner. Again, no tears, rips, moth holes, and all buttons are matching and correct and operate as they are supposed to. Inside liner looks awesome with inner pockets and buttons and no blemishes. There is a small smudge mark/stain on the upper left lapel. Overcoat coat tail edges have minor fraying. Left sleeve has the overseas service chevron and red honorable discharge chevron. Right sleeve has the Corporal rank chevrons. Measurements (taken while on a mannequin)Chest (arm pit to arm pit) - 22”Length (bottom collar to bottom back jacket) - 26 ½”Sleeve (armpit to bottom cuff - 17 ½”Sleeve (shoulder seam to bottom cuff - 23”Across shoulder (seam to seam) - 16” Identification Tags. Complete set of identification tag discs, made of aluminum, issued to this soldier. Includes his name and service number clearly marked, still attached to the original ribbon. Please look over attached photos to get a better idea of the overall condition, as these are considered part of the description. I research every piece I sell and they are described accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge; all are believed to be genuine unless specifically stated otherwise. Some of my military items have been in storage and could have storage wrinkles and be a bit musty. I recommend giving them a quick clean when they arrive.
