Description: A unique caricature drawing of an over worked engineering draftsman during WW II who helped design the American Battleships. Frame measures: 15 1/4 inches wide x 17 1/4 inches tall. Image itself measures: 12 1/2 inches wide x 14 1/2 inches tall. Circa: 1941 to 1945. Hand drawn and not a copy; not a modern print. Very cool depiction. Says on it: "Battleships Our Specialty," Dolittle and Co. Naval Architects & Marine Engineers," "50 Years Experience?" : "Data .50 Cents Per Sheet. "Ten Hours Per Day---No Vacations,""We Close At 12 Pm Sundays," "No Spitting On The Floor Positively Prohibited By Order Board of Trade." Shows a large skeleton sitting at a drafting table, a spider web in top left corner, and a spittoon. The skeleton is smoking a pipe and wearing a sailor's hat. Looks like the original frame; black and textured, wood backing, needs a hanger on the back; simple to do. See all photos as no returns. A rare drawing hand made 80 years ago in excellent shape for its age.
