Description: Presented is a wonderful American coin silver creamer. This piece was made between 1790-1800. The creamer has an elegant tall handle and handsome horizontal fluting along the piece. There is a monogram on the front, C, in a classical form. There is also the monogram and date “JC 1800” engraved on the bottom of the piece. The capacity of the creamer is about 8 ounces. The piece is marked on the inside of the handle with the maker, R & H Farnam. Rufus and Henry Farnam were silversmiths out of Boston, Massachusetts who where working approximately between 1790-1810.This creamer was clearly made in 1800, or perhaps a year or two earlier. The creamer is in great condition especially considering age. We have found no leaks or cracks in the piece. The creamer is clean and ready for use. The handle has a repair at the top where it meets the body of the creamer, there might also be a repair where the handle meets the body near the base. The repair is well done. I believe that the soldering that you can see in the 7th photo, along the edge of the base on the underside, is original to this piece. Measurements: 4 1/2 inches handle to spout, 2 1/2 inches wide, 5 1/4 inches tall at highest point.Weight: 149 grams or 5.25 ounces -kc Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
