Dark blue cloth covered boards with gilt-stamped lettering and graphics on spine. Light scuffs to board panels. Outermost upper and lower board edges are sunned, more so at head and foot of board spine. Small amount of fraying on the back corner at tail of spine. Fore-edge corner tips are scuffed. External page edges are age- and soil-toned. Shadow-transfers to endpapers. Previous owner's name and faint pencil erasures on FFEP. Text pages are age-toned else internally clean, no marks or tears. Text block is sound. Brown paper dust jacket with red test and graphics is soiled and sunned overall; heavily sunned on extremities, even more so on spine. Loss across width at head of spine and adjacent upper edges, approximately 1 1/8" by 1/4", with additional losses of 1/4" on the front and back corners; adjacent closed vertical tear of 1/4" on the front corner. Several chips along lower edge at tail of jacket spine. Loss from rubs on upper fore-edge corners of 1/4". Very small rubs on lower fore-edge corners. All upper edges, including inside flaps, are softened, with shallow horizontal creases and tiny chips/closed vertical tears. Price of 25s. net. in two places on the inside front flap.
