Description: Winston Churchill Second World War Series Volume One The Gathering Storm 1948 and Volume Six Triumph and Tragedy 1953 Hardcover Volume one is well worn, but comes with an interesting story. On the front free endpaper is a contemporary advertisement for the books in this set, which has been taped in. Surrounding this advertisement is a long gift inscription dated 1970 by Timothy J Mahoney, whose bookplate appears on the pastedown opposite. There is discoloration to the back of the front free endpaper, where the aforementioned contemporary advertisement may have once rested. The book is solid, but has some staining to the boards, bumps and shelf wear is evident. There is separation visible within the first few pages, but all pages are present and holding. There are a few random marks in pen within the text block, but nothing that hinders reading. Volume 6 is in much better condition, with minor staining to the boards, minor bumping and shelf wear. The interior is clean and free of bookplates, writing, and other marks. The spines of both volumes are somewhat sun faded. No dust jackets. See photos. Ask questions. Ships free via USPS Media Mail in bubble wrap and cardboard for protection. Priority Mail shipping available in checkout at the buyer’s expense.
