Description: WILLIAMS ELECTRIC TRAINS O GAUGE BURLINGTON ROUTE "EVERYWHERE WEST" "ROUTE OF THE ZEPHYRS" GP9-101 CAB# 2332 The GP, or General Purpose, class was introduced in 1949. General Motors built more than 4,000 GP models for more than 45 different railroads over the following 12 years. This locomotive was so versatile that many railroads rebuilt them and continued to use them for more than 40 years, right up to the early 1990's. In keeping with the tradition General Motors created in the real GP9, Williams Electric Trains has designed a true to scale model that is perfectly detailed in every way. This like new, excellent locomotive, made in 2006, has almost ZERO track time. I think it may have been "test run" only. I have rated this C-8, but it really borders on being C-9. It comes complete with a manufacturers' original storage box that is in pristine condition. The storage box has a Styrofoam insert that protects the diesel during transit and when not in use. Also included is a manufacturers' original shipping carton that is in excellent condition. There are no scratches, scrapes or rubs anywhere on this locomotive. I have bench tested this diesel and it runs strong in forward and reverse and all lights are in good working condition. All manufacturers' literature is included. The life and performance of this locomotive depends, to a considerable extent, upon proper care and lubrication of the motor, trucks and other moving parts. As with all used and new locomotives, I do recommend a thorough cleaning and complete lubrication periodically and before initial use. A small amount of oil and lubricant, properly applied, goes a long way towards long life and great performance.
