He has been a member of the council of the Boston Bar Association, and holds a membership in the Somerset, Algonquin and Curtis Clubs of Boston, and the Country Club of Brookline . During the three terms of Gov. William E. Russell , covering the years 1891 , '92 and '93 , he served served as assistant adjutant-general of the governor's staff.
