This is a truly Universal design for all Hobie-style Pedal-drive kayaks! Our new motor brackets will fit the Pelican Catch HD, Vibe Shearwater, Hobies, Vanhunks, Hammerhead, Lightning Strike, and all others that utilize the pedal drives with fins. This is not for kayaks that have propeller-style drives. Unlike the old design with the Hobie Cassette plug, the new brackets are completely removable and can be taken off easily by simply removing the 4 included bolts with a Phillips head screwdriver. No more taking off the head of the motor in order to remove the bracket if desired. The bolts and nuts included are corrosion resistant stainless steel. The inner part of the brackets are rubberized which provides superior grip on the shaft of the motor, enabling it to be clamped in place without it rotating while in use! These are 3D printed parts that are made from ASA filament which is heat and UV resistant! The parts have been tested in fresh and saltwater and have maintained their strength and stability. The side pegs are very strong and provide plenty of support for the motor! The motor included is a Watersnake 24 lb thrust trolling motor which can propel kayaks to over 4mph! You simply tighten the bracket down with a Phillips head screwdriver, put the motor in like the pedal drive, clamp the side pegs in, and utilize your rudder for steering! Speed testing with the Watersnake T24 Trolling Motor and the Minn Kota Endura 30 lb thrust motor have revealed that it does not improve the speed by having the extra thrust and size. The Minn Kota is MUCH HEAVIER and bulky than the Watersnake and is very difficult to remove from the Drive Well. Being smaller is a huge advantage when on a small vessel like a kayak.
