We do the initial sanding but you will need to finish sanded by you. These handles are 1" in Diameter intending to go on a 1" cane shaft. Include with purchase of handle is one 1/2" X4" Hickory Wood Dowel, see details below. Details: Includes one Derby Walking Cane handle of your choice. One 1/2" X 4" hickory wood dowel with groove to allow glue and air to escape when mounting. Mounting the handle to the shaft I recommend using two part epoxy (like QuickCure 5 by Systems 3 with a 5 minute cure time) or other wood glues like Titebond. Wood is a natural product and some variations are to be expected from pictures shown. We do however pick the very best wood suited for walking cane handle application it is being used for.
