Jul. Herbertz, Solingen knife company from the 1980's.Fukuta was the first Japanese member of the American Knife Maker's Guild, and apprenticeto Bob Loveless. He hand crafted fine quality knives that impressed his mentor.Over the years, his factory in Seki, Japan also produced knives forParker, Valor, Gutmann, Explorer, and Browning among others.The pattern of the knife is based on an antique 18-th century dagger.It is not marked Japan, as it was meant to be marketed in Germany as Herbertz brand.Full tang blade made of high quality mirror polished 440 stainless steel.Handle made of layered synthetic wood scales with decorativenickel-silver guard and horse head rear bolster. Lanyard hole.Complete with its original black leather sewn sheath for carrying on belt.The blade of the knife is marked with:C. JUL.
