Description: Available for your consideration is a wonderful vintage Folk Art handmade Trivet with an interesting historical background. This footed trivet measures 10 1/4" square and features a framed 6" decorative ceramic tile.The wooden frame is Maple and is part of a basketball/Athletic court wood flooring.made by the Connors Wood Mill in Laona Wisconsin - as stamped into the woodunderneath. These wood planks measure 2 1/8" wide. Etched underneath is the name "Marge 1987" and the date "1938" - which indicatesto us the the wood used to frame the tile is repurposed from an old floor that was either removed or updated. And created by Marge in 1987. The origin of the ceramic tile is unknow, but looks like it is from a time period of the 60's or 70's. Very nice vintage condition. Little dings and divets to the wood flooring as we wouldexpect from a used athletics court. There is a nail hole on 2 sides of the frame.
