Description: We have sold MANY vintage newspapers. This one is a little extra interesting because of a USPS mailing label that's on it (one of them). We are selling not one but TWO copies of this paper from 1952. Both only have the outer pages so included are pages 1,2,11 & 12, pages 4-10 are missing in both of them. Anyway, the headline at the top of the front page speaks of ACE GILCHRIST getting nabbed in a Deadwood, SD Gambling Joint. We just recently aquired these newspapers at an Estate Auction. The Estate Auction was for the recently deceased HOMER GILCHRIST who's name is on the very well aged USPS mailing label. I don't know if possibly ACE Gilchrist may have been the father of HOMER Gilchrist or possibly even if ACE was just HOMERS nick name but its pretty interesting that the name on the mailing label ad the name on the headline are both Gilchrist. Look at the pics and do all the research you want to try and solve the puzzle but I found it very interesting.
