Description: Vtg 1950s, 1960s VF-142 FIGHTING FALCONS Squadron Wellington Zippo Lighter, ID’d This is an original vintage lighter from a Naval Aviator named I.B. Holt Jr. From the lighters and buckles from this man, I believe he was in VF-142 (the USNR squadron that existed under that name from 1953-1962) and HATRON TWO and flew off the USS Coral Sea at some point. One of the lighters is inscribed with LCDR for his rank, so he was at least an O-4. I couldn’t find him in any searches on the internet, maybe you’ll have better luck. This lighter is in very nice shape and has an F-9 Cougar on it opposite the squadron emblem side.
