These recordings were made at a variety of concert venues across the United States and in London, England, and the excitement of these recitals is preserved in the unedited eight-track and three-track analog tapes, as well as the digital tapes from 1981-1983, freshly remastered for this collection. The appearance of this set is due to the success of another large collection on Sony Classical, Vladimir Horowitz Live at Carnegie Hall, so aficionados of his highly varied and dazzling performances will delight in the additional material.
