Description: This Vito branded alto (made by Yamaha in Japan is actually a YAS-23). Manufactured around the 2000 time-frame base on serial #. The case included is the deluxe Vito version with two handles (top and side) - standard Vito cases only had one handle. To ensure that this instrument is in its best playing (MINT) condition, pads that have the most saliva contact and typically wear out first were replaced as a matter of preventive maintenance. The pads specifically replaced were high D, high E, high D# and high F, low D# and the neck octave key. Replacement pads are "Chocolate Roo" pads by Music Medic (made with kangaroo leather) among the finest (google it and check the reputation - see photo of replacement pad group). All other pads were inspected/cleaned to be sure that they are at least in EX condition (i.e., no stains, leaks, dried out etc.)In addition to the 6 new Roo pads, the restoration of this saxophone (November 2024) included: 1) Entire saxophone disassembled, sax body and neck ultrasonically cleaned with Tesch Classic Brass cleaning solution. 2) Rods cleaned and given fresh Yamaha key oil 3) Nickel silver keys machine buffed and polished to a mirror finish. 4) Post screw and key hinge openings cleaned with pipe cleaners and given fresh Ultimax key oil 5) Springs inspected and polished 6) Felt pads and cork pads inspected and replaced as necessary 7) After reassembly - entire sax checked for leaks - pads/keys adjusted to ensure proper seating/sealing then the instrument was play tested. With the Tesch ultrasonic cleaning, it is super clean inside and out. (see photo of stripped-down saxophone body). It plays as well as it looks!! Watch the video of my 16 year old using it.It is being sold "As Described" you would be hard pressed to find another in this condition at this price with this much information. Very rare to find one restored with Roo pads. Not many ads show the actual instrument completely disassembled or being played. No need to take a guess/chance on the condition of the sax body under the keys, how the pads look, the work performed, or how it plays. Price includes saxophone body, neck, plastic end plug, original Leblanc case, Yamaha 4C mouthpiece, brass ligature, brass mouthpiece cap and Neotech strap. The accessories (mouthpiece and strap) are the considered some of the best for students starting out.As an experienced restorer and seller of saxophones with 100% Positive Feedback on Reverb, you can be rest assured that you will be pleased with your purchase. I have restored and sold numerous Vito and Yamaha saxes on Reverb and ebay. Everyone of my customers have been pleased with the restoration work (check my feedback). I take my time and meticulously restore about 4 to 5 saxophones a year as it is more about interest and passion to give these instruments a new life and home. I monitor the pricing of Vito/Yamaha saxophones on the market and price my instruments fairly based on the condition of the instrument and the labor and materials involved to restore it back to optimal performance. Continental U.S. buyers only. It will be carefully packed and shipped to you fully insured via UPS Ground for $55.
