Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a high quality Shure Brothers PE50SP model "Super Pro"dynamic cardioid microphone that has been cleaned and tested. It comes with the newer Shure mic clip and vinyl mic pouch. This unique microphone was manufactured sometime during the 1970's - 80's. Don't let the physical wear fool you. This mic sounds like the day it was sold and is a superb sounding model. One of the best 1970's Shure mics you could buy and it sounds incredible. Like a cross between an SM-58 and a 565SD. Pic # 2 is from an old Shure 1974 Shure catalog showing this very model. It doesn't go into great detail on the mic but it seems to be a variation of the SM58 with one main difference being the on / off switch. It looks almost identical and the sound quality and build is superb. The PE50SP is rugged and these mics hold up very well with age. I did recently sell one of these to a gentleman who told me he had bought one brand new around the late 1970's for $300.00 so this was certainly a higher end Shure mic at that time. He missed his old PE50SP that he was looking to buy another one after all these years. He loved that mic. I can tell you that this model has a fabulous sound to it. It has a little less bass than an SM-58. It sounds more mid range and smooth like a Shure PE56D, 565 model or 565SD. A really nice tone. It utilizes an all metal body with a stock painted finish. It has the typical SM-58 style globe / screen. The PE50SP comes with an on / off switch that's slides and works just as it should...no issues. I have checked the inner foam pop filter and it's in excellent shape. This greatly reduces the dreaded "pops" you get from breathing or windy conditions. This mic is 100% and ready for any live performance. The mic is set at Low Impedance currently. These mics are uni-directional picking up only the sound that's directly in front of the screen cancelling out most background noise making it ideal for situations where audience or fellow band members might be a problem. As you can see there are typical signs of wear on the painted handle but still a very good looking mic overall and slightly above average for a mic of this age. The stock painted finish shows some scratches and scuff marks but free of any dents or fractures. The Shure label looks very good and completely legible. The globe is free of any dents or corrosion. Mic is 100% complete and solid. No loose parts. No odd odors either. Microphone is a very conservative 7 on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking. The real beauty of this mic is the sound it produces. Hook this one up and you are ready for any live event. The clip is a newer MXD model and works well for this mic. Gives the mic a wide degree of tilt up and down and grip the mic firmly. It will screw on to any American desk or floor stand. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY...NOT PART OF THIS SALE. This mic just needs a standard XLR cable to operate the mic. This rarer Shure mic will do you justice and it's always cool to use something that few others have or know about. And as always... I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The return shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS are welcome as well. BUYER MUST PAY WITHIN 24 HOURS or will lose rights to this item, unpaid item report will be filed and will be relisted.
