Description: Vintage Transfer Steamer Maryland and Colonial Express Table DHote Dinner Menu This lot is a printed Table D'Hote dinner menu from the transfer steamer, Maryland. Transfer steamers were used in the early 1900s on the waterways surrounding New York City, New Jersey, Maryland, and others before the tunnels and bridges of today were built. Passenger trains would arrive at the steamer terminal and the cars would be loaded on the steamer. Once on the other side, the train cars would be unloaded and reconnected so they could continue on their way. This menu indicates that the dinner would be served upon the arrival of the Colonial Express. The menu is approximately 6" tall by 4.25" wide. All our items are kept in a smoke-free and pet-free environment.
