Description: This vintage earthenware teapot, made by Arthur Wood in England, would be charming addition to any tea lovers or teapot lovers collection. It has beautiful red poppies on an off white background. This teapot holds 4-5 cups and stands at 6 inches tall to the top of the knob on the lid, and is 10 inches from the tip of spout to the handle. The backstamp on this pot, started being used in 1954. It is in excellent vintage shape, with no chips, cracks, stains or crazing. It is in pristine condition, like it was not used much, if at all. History: Arthur Wood started in business in 1884 making earthenware teapots in Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire England. The partnership with Alfred Capper dissolved in 1904 and Arthur Wood went into business by himself. In 1924, his son joined him, and they changed the name of the company to Arthur Wood & Son in 1928. In 1955 the Arthur Wood Group listed as a public company and contained several potteries. In 2003 they became insolvent and went into administration.
