Description: Vintage Silverloy Amalgam Powder 4.1 oz & 3 oz Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose This lisiting is for chemicals/powders from the past and present. Silverloy 4.1 ounce blend of silver (about 70%), tin, copper, and zinc that was used to fill cavities in teeth. It was a dental amalgam introduced to the market in 1919 by the Crescent Dental Manufacturing Company of Chicago, Illinois. The amalgam was mixed with mercury to create a putty-like substance that could be shaped and hardened to fill the cavity. This type of filling was a common dental procedure for many years. This item was kept in storage for over 40 years. The scale photo shows total weight of glass bottle and contents-- bottle is about 2.9 ounces. Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose: Original owner - obtained in 2020, never used -storage bag is unopened and the shrink-wrapped tamper seal is intact on the HDPE plastic screw-top bottle. Hundreds of Uses: Food Additive (E466), Ice Cream Ingredient, Thickener, Emulsifier, Pharmaceuticals, Toothpaste, etc... Please refer to photos. What you see is what you will receive.
