Description: Vintage Sewmor Zig Zag Sewing Machine With Foot Pedal And Case Purchased from an Estate Sale. The gal I bought it from said it belonged to her grandmother. I have tested it and it appears to work very well. It’s very strong and very quiet. It is guaranteed to work or your money back including shipping. It WILL however need to be serviced before extensive use as it has been sitting in storage for several years. I believe it is in the model 900 family. Most likely made in Japan in the early 1950’s or late 1940’s It’s also the same machine as the Grand Special J-A39 J-C2 Zig Zag Sewing Machine shown in the last picture. I’ve done a little research on this and the following is a quick summary of what I found. It’s not presented as fact. Just information that appears to be relevant and accurate as far as I can tell. The original maker of the Sewmore sewing machines was Sanshin Sewing Machine Co., Ltd. This is known even though Japanese records at that time were not so good because that company’s name was placed on the lawsuit filed against Barcley’s by Necchi sewing machine company. I believe this is one of the machines Consolidated shipped from its supplier for 5 months, between the months of January 10, 1951, and June 21, 1951 and stopped shortly after that. Barcley’s was a shipper and Consolidated was a retailer back in the day.
