VINTAGE RODNEY AMMONS CUSTOM OSTRICH COWBOY BOOTS WITH CACTUS INLAY BOOT SHAFTS

Description: I worked in a Custom Western Wear shop in Scottsdale, AZ in the early 90's. I was custom fitted for these boots by Rodney Ammons. I had 4 pair of his boots, they all were a superb fit! These are marked as size 7.5 C. The marking in the boot has worn off, but this was my size and is still slightly visible.Toe is slightly rounded.Heels are 1 3/4 inch stacked leather.The rubber sole has been replaced once, and I believe the leather soles were also replaced once by a local boot repair guy!Total height of the boots are 14 1/4 inches.Shafts are 10 1/2 inches measured from where the ostrich vamp meets the shaft. These boots were custom made for me. I chose to model the shafts after a very old classic pair I saw in the Cowboy Boot book.I don't have the book, and I don't recall the page, but I know they are in there. The high quality Ostrich skin is a full piece leather not scraps. Its a very rich tobacco color.The shafts are a super soft leather, they may be a kangaroo leather, but I can't recall for certain what I ordered.The cactus inlay is phenomenal and shows incredible detail. These boots were worn, but NOT abused. Ostrich is in excellent condition but do show some very minor signs of wear. Boots are close to 30 years old making them vintage, but you would never know by looking at them!! These boots are not a major production boot. While they are modeled after an old vintage style, these were custom made for me. I just don't wear boots anymore, they have been sitting unworn in the closet for over 15 years. They are super comfy, absolutely beautiful boots should be worn and enjoyed!! Ask questions prior to purchase all sales are final
