Description: Vintage Robertson Pottery Trinket Box Description and Item Information Up for sale is this colorful, vintage Robertson Hollywood art pottery trinket box or jar. Please excuse the glare in the photos. The exterior is a bright yellow with a slight greenish cast. The lid's handle is comprised of two applied pottery pink roses with green leaves. This piece stands approximately 4 inches tall, and it is about 9 1/4 inches long and 6 1/2 inches wide. Unpacked, it weighs 2 pounds 1.5 ounces. This would be a fine addition to a collection of vintage California pottery. Identification This box is marked beneath, "Robertson Hollywood," as shown. Black markings, "3." appear beneath the lid and beneath the box base (please see Photos 3 and 4). The exact age of this vintage piece is not known. George and Fred Robertson operated Robertson Hollywood pottery during the 1930s until the early 1950s. Condition This item looks good overall. There is a tiny flake to one flower petal; the adjacent area was smoothed out and touched up (see Photo 6). There are no other chips. The interior has minor staining. There are a few fine, glazed-over firing fissures to the applied elements, as made (examples visible). There are no post-manufacturing cracks.
