Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a rare and obscure Turner 25D model dynamic microphone from the 1950's with a nice period Snyder DM-1 model desk stand in which to display. This 25 series mic came either in a crystal or dynamic version but as you can see this is the dynamic model. It was also offered in a painted two tone brown body or polished chrome body. Pic # 2 is of an old Turner catalog from 1949 showing this very model and it's basic specs and price. This is the only 25D series mic I have and probably won't have another for a year or two. Just that hard to come by these days but the 25 series was a very low production model so it makes sense. The 25D & 25X were only sold for a few short years and one of the hardest models to find today. This 25X is one of the most collectible of the Turner mics with ultra modern styling for it's day and has a "War of the Worlds" look to it. It's roughly the same size as the Turner 33D or 33X. It should be noted that this 25D still has the original dynamic element inside of the housing. It's original and has omni-directional sound characteristics. It's set at High impedance but again, this mics element is non-working. This would make an excellent display, or prop piece due to it's nice cosmetic condition. A new replacement element would have this mic up and running again. As you can see the original two tone painted finish is in very nice overall shape showing very lite paint loss and a few small scuff marks. There are no dents, corrosion or engravings however. The chrome screen shows zero dents or tarnish. The inner silk screen is free of any holes or rips. The Turner 25D badge shows virtually no wear and completely legible. Mic is an easy 8 on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking though some might rate higher. The joint mechanism works flawlessly and the tension is adjustable. The threads for both the stand and cable are perfect. There is nothing loose on this mic what so ever. She's a real gem considering her age and wear. Also included is a nice 1950's era Snyder DM-1 model microphone desk stand. This is a stock painted cast iron base with polished chrome stem / riser. It has a unique deco vibe with 3 tier "waterfall" design which really compliments the 25D and makes for a very stable platform. The stand thread itself has the 5/8 X 27 universal thread and any mic or mic clip will technically mate to the top of it. This particular stand has lite wear on it's original black paint. The chrome riser looks even nicer. Please let the detailed pictures be your guide. The 3 new felt pads are in excellent shape and will keep the stand from scratching any surface it sits on. Mic with stand is appx 11 1/2 inches tall X 4 1/2 inches wide. This 25D will make a great conversation piece anywhere it's used or sits in the home, studio or office. And as with all my items... I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS are welcome as well. Buyer must pay within 24 hours or an unpaid case will be opened due to too many unpaid mics lately. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping. If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
