Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a unique and rare Brush G2P2S microphone from the 1930's complete with a period gorgeous deco desk stand. This mic is a bit of a mystery to me as this is an early Brush mic and I have no info on this model. The model of this is stamped on the lower side of the head where it mounts to it's lower adapter. The serial number states # 1126. This is only the third example of this mic I have ever seen. I have one in my personal collection but I can't seem to find any info on these. I'm not even sure if this is a crystal mic or not? I have a feeling this particular element might need phantom power to work. Pic # 2 is from a very old photo showing this very model being used at a public speaking event. Brush was very well known for being a wide distributor of the crystal elements and sold them to many other American mic companies during the 1930's and 40's but again, I suspect it's not a crystal model. You'll see this all metal design is quite unique being very industrial and masculine. It slightly resembles the skyscrapers that were very popular in American pop culture at that time. It's a two piece mic having a detachable upper head with the element and a lower receiver with the wiring and connector. I'm not sure why Brush chose this design but I suppose if the element stopped working you could simply buy another head and slide it into place? it's a crazy interesting mic for sure. The mic shows very lite signs of wear in the satin chrome finish and the front and rear screens are free of any unwanted dents or tarnish. I'd give this mic an honest 7 on a scale of 1 - 10. The mic and adapter are appx 5 inches tall X 1 1/4 inches wide. The cable is appx 10 inches long and comes with a vintage male Switchcraft end connector. The cable is soft, pliable and free of damage. It should be noted that the mic can be screwed onto any desk or floor stand but it does come with an attractive older stand as seen in the pictures and it makes a very attractive and stable platform for this mic. Total height with mic and stand is appx 16 1/2 inch tall X 5 1/2 inches wide. The Masco stand shows typical lite wear as well. It's a heavy two tier "waterfall" cast iron design with a nice tulip shape and original dark grey paint. It even has the three original pads on the bottom and it's in great shape. Comes with an original brass chrome plated 6 1/2 inch riser. The riser shows spots where the chrome is worn down to the brass. It's not a bad looking stand considering it's age. While this microphone is nonworking it would make an absolutely beautiful accent piece on the coffee table or just about anywhere it's displayed. Again, super rare and quite beautiful. You probably wont come across another of these on Ebay for another year at least. This will be greatly appreciated by the hardcore collector. As with all my vintage microphones for sale...
