Description: This vintage tobacco tin stands approximately 4 ¼” in height, 3” in length and 7/8” in width and once contained “crimp cut long burning pipe and cigarette tobacco”. The tin features an image of Prince Albert on the front panel and great vintage graphics on the front, back and side. A partial part of the original United States Taxpaid Revenue Stamp is affixed to the hinged lid. This stamp was marked with “Place for Cancellation – Series 119 – 1 5/8 Ounce Tobacco” and indicates that a tax had been paid on this tobacco product. An embossed “Prince Albert” is marked on the base. Manufactured by the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, of Winston Salem, North Carolina, this tin originally held 1 5/8 ounces of pipe and cigarette tobacco. The tin is now empty and the lid is rusted shut; I did not want to force it open. Despite the poor condition of this tobacco tin it is a rare find with the original revenue stamp attached.
