Description: Primitive educational classroom tool likely from the 1940's - 1950's era. The heavy duty large wooden stand holds two sets of inter-changeable wheels. The wheels have letters and letter sets on them that combine to form words. It would have been placed probably at the front of the classroom as a demonstration for a lesson. The piece was made by Ford's Wood Novelties in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In some ways, it appears hand made or partially hand made. I have to wonder if a teacher came up with the idea and had this company build one as a special order. Somehow, it doesn't appear as a mass marketed item. Please let me know if anyone has ever seen another one like this! The dimensions are 2 feet wide x 14 inches high. There are nine wheels. The wheels can be removed and placed in different combinations. Ships with UPS Ground.
