Description: Vintage Persian miniature original, one of a kind, painting of birds and flowers. Possibly on camel bone which is traditional for this type of painting and era. Painting is signed by artist in their language. Backing behind miniature is a blue fabric. Frame is a mosaic of inlaid colored pieces (six pointed stars) and strips of wood veneered on wood frame on back. Lacquered finish. Fiber board backing with a hinged leg to stand painting and frame on shelf. No hanging mounts. Original tag/sticker on back reads: 9/6031750Shiraz, Iran (handwritten by previous owner?)1979 ( handwritten by previous owner?) So this looks like the painting may be the 9th out of 603? Possibly cost 1750 rials? And came from Shiraz, Iran in the year of the Islamic Revolution? PLEASE NOTE this frame has condition issues typical for a wooden frame of this age. The corners have some chips and some separation of veneer can be seen. Please see photos for details. The blue fabric looks to have some dust beneath the glass. I have not taken the frame apart or examined the painting under the glass due to possible fragility issues. Thank you!
