Description: Vintage One Of A Kind Mining Underground Locomotive And Carts Model Art Display. This is a beautiful piece that I purchased at a estate sale. This display was built in 1989 by A man named Charlie Weiss. Charlie went into great detail to build this piece. The piece is mainly built of metal but he adds unique characters to each and every piece. The locomotive front bumpers are made from old conveyor belting. The headlights are made from innertube valve caps. It has an enclosed battery case that actually opens so that you can see the battery with cables hooking to the locomotive from the battery inside the case. The two seats are both covered with vinyl. He added two man-made working jackstands to the front fenders of each wheel. He has added a fire extinguisher made from a wiring connector mounted on the back of the cab. The mine carts, if not mount it to the display have front rotating axles and so many other details and features that I haven’t mentioned. The overall size of the base is 28” long by 7 3/8” wide. The equipment measures approximately 22” long by 4 5/8” wide by 5 3/8” tall. Charlie added a brass nameplate to the base with his name and a quote that says “your friends at the main garage 1989”. I was not able to find out where that exactly was. This would make a nice addition for any collector of older items especially any collector of old mining equipment. If you have a family member that worked in the mines can you imagine the look on their face when you give this to them. It would look really nice displayed in a Man Cave. Just about anywhere you would display this piece it is sure to spark a great conversation. Like I mentioned earlier this is one of a kind, you will not find another.
