Description: this is a beautiful vintage oil painting depicting a summer scene with a young boy & his dog in what appears to be a foliage filled rural property or possibly a park - in the center of the painting is a young boy wearing brown shorts & a white shirt - he is standing near a dirt driveway to a cottage-type building & reading a small red book - there is a white dog lying near his feet - behind the boy is a small rock wall which continues towards a field next to some woods - the artist signed his name "Wiesner" & July, 1931 in the lower right corner - the very talented artist created this lovely painting using an impressionistic style which, when you view the painting, does give the viewer the impression & feeling of a warm summer day with the usage of wonderful summer foliage colors of various shades of green with the bushes, trees, & shrubs painted in light green through the color spectrum to very dark green - the juxtaposition between the beige color of the dirt driveway, the brown color of the cottage, the off-white short stone walls, the pale blue sky, & the many shades of green foliage is quite dramatic to the viewer - the painting measures 16" x 20" & is in very good vintage condition considering it is 92 years old - it is greatly enhanced by its original gilded wooden frame which measures 19" x 23", & is also in very good vintage condition - painting can be picked up at my home in Swanzey, NH to avoid the cost for shipping -
