Vintage Minolta SRT SR-T 101 35mm Film SLR Camera w/58mm f/1.4 Original BOX, IB

Description: Here's a Nice Vintage 35mm Film SLR Camera--- a Minolta SRT-101 body from the 1960's, with a 58mm f/1.4 lens and with it's matching serial numbered box plus Instruction books. It's a nice collector piece with a couple of problems--- one cosmetic, one mechanical. It's Not in Mint condition---- the body is in Very Good Condition Cosmetically---- aside from the usual light rub marks here and there and on the bottom, and a few nicks and some dirt in the nooks from use and age, and it has a good size ding on the front, top, left edge of the prism housing--- but it doesn't affect anything functionally. So it's Not Mint but still pretty nice, and the unusual value is that it's an original set with box--- a relic from the 1960's! Technically.... I'm not a camera store technician, but I know cameras. I put in a good battery and ran it through some "dry" shooting and testing, and I can tell you it winds smoothly, and the shutter fires crisply at the different speeds up and down the scale. The Match-Needle Exposure feature of the light meter inside responds to light well. The lens glass is Clear as spring water with bright contrasty coatings and the focus is smooth as butter. BUT... the aperture is gummed up and won't close beyond the f/1.4 wide-open setting (the ring turns as it should, but the aperture doesn't function). So you can shoot at 1.4--- and adjust the shutter speed for the correct exposure, or get it repaired. Shoot in low light, or do some astro-photography, or shoot some real shallow Depth of Field fine art stuff. Inside the film chamber it's also clean as well, no problems that I can see---- except maybe it can use new seals. So it's got a few minor flaws, and couple of bigger ones, but it's nice to have as almost a complete set from the 1960's (with it's original price sticker on the box) . I've been a photographer for 30+ years and I know how cameras work and what to look for and can recognize when something is broken. But I can't "Bench Test" everything to factory specs, and understand every little bell and whistle. So I'm sorry, I can't sell this item on Approval--- it's being sold As Is, No Warranty, No Buyer's Remorse, No Try-outs, No Returns---- being sold for collectible purposes with some flaws. Any significant defects that I know of are either pictured or described to the best of my knowledge and I try to be detailed and truthful, but I can't describe every millimeter of it. As expected with age, a used vintage camera could be found with a nick or blemishes here and there or a few additional specs of dust inside that I failed to mention, particularly inside the viewfinder... but they won't affect the photos and would hardly diminish it... unless you expect everything to be 100% Perfect. But.... I can't let people buy something, play with it, break it and then say it arrived that way. I'm an honest guy, but there are many buyers who aren't. What you see is what you'll get and I package my items well, so it arrives in the same condition as shown.
