Description: *FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING* This is a unique mid-20th century sewing chair with storage built into the seat. The chair has a trapezoid form back made of black powder-coated metal and accented with Spanish revival style metal scrolls. The base is made of wood and is mounted on 4 tapered and fluted Louis XVI style legs. The back and seat are padded and upholstered in the original red velvet. The seat has a hinged lid which lifts to reveal a spacious storage space for sewing notions. The chair is unsigned. This 1960s era chair is very good vintage condition with wear consistent with age. The velvet upholstery is very clean and in great shape. There are some scratches in the fabric on the back side of the backrest. The hinged lid works well but there are tears on the black paper lining under the lid. There is some wear on the wood base, including scratches on the legs and some wood loss on the lower front apron. Please see photos for more details on condition. The chair looks super retro and rad as is, but you could also replace the fabric and/or paint the base to suit your decor. The chair measures 43" tall, 18.5" wide, and 17" deep with a seat height of 18 inches. The inner storage compartment is 3 inches deep.
