Description: This is a lovely perfume/dresser mirrored ormolu tray. It is vintage and in very good condition. Light marks on the mirror are consistent with age. The tray's decorations feature birds and dogwood flowers. The shape is very unusual. Measurements are 21" long by 12" wide. Ormolu is a gilding technique that involves applying a gold-mercury amalgam to bronze The mercury is then driven off in a kiln, leaving behind a gold coating. Not all Matson ormolu pieces are marked. This one is not. Ormolu components are rarely signed.
