Description: Vintage Madeline Island Nautical Brass Mooring Cleat Bookends - 8" x 7" Cleat. They were made from an old Mooring Cleat in 1985. The overall size of each bookend is 9.5" x 7" x 5.5" They sit on 1.5" wood bases. These are solid. One Cleat split in half to create these bookends. These are one of a kind bookends from Madeline Island in Lake Superior. I've never saw another set. Not sure if these came from the docks or a ship. Each one weighs about 7 pounds.
