VINTAGE LIGHT UP 3D ELECTRIC SIGN HAIR SALON STORE DISPLAY RETAIL ADVERTISING

Description: Offered here is a super cool vintage hair salon advertising sign! A unique piece of retro decor. I'm unsure of its origins, but I'm assuming this sign used to hang in a storefront and may have also rotated. It's also more than likely a one of a kind piece designed for a specific business location. It remains in good condition with no rust or indications that it was ever really exposed to the elements, so it probably hung under a roof or overhang. The sign is composed of plastic panels with metal framing, is illuminated, double-sided and features 3D style woman silhouettes with her hair blowing in the wind. There is a Gulf Development, Inc. manufacturer sticker on the bottom with a date of July 1980. The sign originally had two fluorescent bulbs mounted inside and the wiring was original, however, the component was no longer functioning. Just a matter of old wiring and the sign probably not being used for several years or even decades. I removed the entire component and ran a standard lamp socket and cord into it (see photos). I put a bright bulb inside and the sign looks great lit up!The bulb is being left in there. A few scratches are present in places on the black borders and within the sign. The shadow outline seen around the silhouettes when the sign is lit is a result of a border within the plastic and appears to be the way it was designed. Measurements: 32" long x 12" deep x 22" tall Weight: 15 lbs. At this point, this sign would look great in a home bar, recreation/game room, garage or workshop.
