This brass and blue enamel singing bird automaton box was crafted by the renowned Karl Griesbaum in mid of 20th century in Germany. Concealed inside is a miniature bird, covered with colorful, iridescent feathers. When the lid is opened, the bird appears and sings a lovely tune. While singing, he moves his beak and flaps his wings. When the birdsong is complete, the tiny creature quickly slips back into the box and the lid closes behind it. The original bird-shaped winding key is included. Care instructions are included as well as polishing cloths recommended for this box. CONDITION This box was fully, professionally serviced and restored for the next generation of owners to enjoy. Bird was cleaned and refeathered where needed. The exterior of the box is in very good condition. There is light wear to the brass trim, including a small ding on the left top edge. SHIPPING Size Of The Box Is About : 2.5" H x 3" W x 4"L.
