Description: A vintage (antique?) silk "Koromo" jacket for a Japanese Zen Buddhist priest. This is a rare and unusual item. It would be suitable for display / framing but we think too fragile for wearing. We don't know its age. It came from an antiques auction in Kyoto. There's no label. It looks hand made. The material is tattered in places (see the close ups photos) and has had repairs done over its lifetime. The interior silk lining has sweat stains. We have two others listed on eBay that came from the same auction and likely came from the same monk and temple. It's 67 inches across the top. End of one sleeve to the end of the other sleeve.
