The screw backs function properly on both earrings.Each earring is marked "1/20-12K G.F." to indicate 12-karat gold-filled metal.The entire length of each earring is approximately 1.125". The dangle portion only measures approximately .875" long.These earrings are very difficult to find, especially in the original box.This would make an amazing gift.Please ask questions before your purchase and don't forget to review the photos. Your purchase price includes insurance for your protection.Original, vintage pair of Iris Floating Opals screw back earrings in their original, vintage presentation box. The opals in the left earring seem to not be floating as well as the opals in the right earring. The left earring's opals seem slightly more "yellowed" than the right earring's opals; I think the oil in the left earring that the opals float in needs to be replaced by a qualified jeweler. The left earring's metal part also appears like it might need a cleaning (oil residue? not certain). The original box appears to be in excellent condition, except for the backing paper on the reverse of the insert which has been bent and slightly torn, but could be re-glued to repair it. It is hidden when in the box. Please review the photos.
