Description: Authentic vintage handmade Hinamatsuri scene from 1940's This mini set (platform is approx 4" x 3") isin remarkable condition, as seen in item photos. Hinamatsuri, also called Doll's Day or Girls' Day, is a religious holiday in Japan, celebrated on March 3rd each year. Platforms covered with a red carpet–material are used to display a set of ornamental dolls representing the Emperor, Empress, attendants, and/or musicians in traditional court dress of the Heian period. This is a great collectors piece that carries not only great value, but is alsoan interesting topic to discuss when showing it to friends and family. Due to the delicate nature of this item, it appears there are very few, if any that remain in existence. After multiple google image searches, we were unable to find any others identical or similar. There are a few made of 'porcelain', selling for upwards of $500 for the set...however, these are made of papier-mâché and other paper products, making the success of their longevity and uniqueness even more rare! ** MAKE AN OFFER! ** On some items we are unable to consider offers, while others WE CAN!
