Vintage HALL CHINA Oven/Tablewaredating from around 1956/57 Stamp can be decerned faintly under the glaze DARLING HARD TO FIND SHADE in this shape!These are in the MAROON BURGUNDY, which leans towards a wine hue, not the prevalent chinese red shade. The lobster dish Measures 9-3/4" overall from smooth claw top down to tail tip, and 5" across the widest of the claws, with the interior eating area of the oval being: 1-1/4” Deep X 6-3/4" Long, and 3-1/8" across the center. The tail and claws are so cleverly designed to be curved on the underside, to be VERY secure to hold like comfortable handles to serve or carry! These are the restaurant quality of old school we know and adore well!- Oven to table easy, to keep the food hot and insulated, if desired, and dishwasher safe. A PERFECT Displayable, or FABULOUS Novelty dinner cutie usable for AWESOME nostalgia parties, or to really fancy things up! No chips, cracks, repairs or defects, all are in PERFECT condition- without any utensil marks. (couple light rust spots on the underside white area where they were sitting ontop of a skewer in the box for 50years in storage (according to the newspaper they were wrapped in). The original owner was in her 90s, and said she had a set of 8 at one time, and didn't think they used them all, and the ones they did, weren't used more than a few times, and that she only served a lobster crab Gratin, you ate with spoons (when I asked if they used knives in the dishes, as I was looking them over).
