Description: Vintage Framed PAUL GAUGUIN Print, TAHITIAN WOMEN ON THE BEACH Click images to enlarge Description BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE PRINT Large and striking vintage framed under glass and matted print titled TAHITIAN WOMEN ON THE BEACH, by Paul Gauguin, painted originally in 1891. Measuring 18-3/4" wide by 15-3/4" deep, it is double matted in complimentary tones in a simple gold accented frame with similar edge tones to play off the image coloration. Depicting a pair of native women enjoying a lazy afternoon, it bears Gauguin's signature lower right. Condition is very nice with minor edge rubbing to the frame. As shown, the back was removed and re-taped in order to re-position the image underneath the matte - there is a tiny tear on the very top center of the print within the dark area as shown - does not detract a bit. I've seen numerous versions of this print, but most of the colors are garish and bold - this image depicts more muted tones - it is peaceful and just lovely.
