This is a rare and collectible lot of 15 vintage fishing and hunting books featuring well-known authors like Roderick L. Haig-Brown, Ray Bergman, and Van Campen Heilner. Books range from the 1939 up through 1976. More than half from the 50s and earlier. The books cover a wide range of topics, including trout fishing, fly fishing, duck hunting, and nature writing. Most volumes include charming illustrations by artists such as Louis Darling, Lynn Bogue Hunt, and T. Brayshaw, enhancing the reading experience. The books are in good to very good condition, showing typical signs of wear for their age.Some dust jackets have edgewear or other issues, but several are protected with Mylar covers.The bindings are in excellent shape and tight. Only one book—upland game shooting—has a loose page (the very first color plate has almost detached) but the rest of the binding is in good shape. Interiors are for the most part clean, with no significant damage. Books have minimal writing or highlighting and the writing that does occur seems to be confined to the front and back inside cover boards and pages. A few might have old price stickers or markings near front and back inside covers. A few have nameplates. Technically, a couple might be library copies but these were libraries of fishing clubs and the only sign that these were in a library is the nameplate sticker the put in at least one book.Covers are intact, with some light rubbing along the edges and corners on a few volumes. Some might have small areas or fraying but nothing serious. Overall, this collection is in solid collectible shape and ready to be enjoyed by any fishing, hunting, or nature enthusiast.
