Vintage Excellent Stetson 1950s Beaver 3X O.R.- Strato. SB 7-1/4+ 7-3/8 & Box?

Description: This Excellent Vintage 1950s Stetson Fedora Beaver 3X OPEN ROAD - SilverBelly - size 7-1/4+ to 7-3/8 (read below). We took a video but for some unknown reason it’s not attaching to the ad. But we were able to attach an old video we took last year of the exact same Stetson 3X Beaver of a Taupe Open Crown - Open Road that we did add. It’s the same 1950s 3X Beaver and this reacts the exact same way as that hat. Easily “Hand Bashed”! There is a 1970s Stetson Feather set that Dad added along with that Original Silver Sheriff Pin also from the 1970s! See pictures. That Sheriff hat pin is always getting lost. This was found in Dads Stetson hat pin collection and he decided that this was a PERFECT use of the Sheriff Pin. We always try and help our buyers by putting in the extra work to reply to request but if you don’t really intend to buy the hat please please don’t ask to steam shape it, Please. Look at the pictures of the “Hand Bashing”, when it is steam shaped all the lines will be sharper and set into place. No need to hand shape it afterwards, unless you select a Center Dent only, then you can do your own Hand Bashing from that point. We will steam shape this into what you want after it’s purchased and we will send you pictures for your approval when done. If you look very closely at the “Last Drop” hat liner you should know that parts of that liner are actually embroidered into the satin liner! Maybe you can’t tell from the pictures? But it is! That’s what makes this liner so very unique and beautiful! This is one our favorites liner designs! This original 1950s Stetson Beaver is Very very soft and pliable, hold a shape just like you’d expect from these true vintage beaver Stetsons. This is a very soft, thick beaver and pliable material! Currently this is shapes as a standard Open Crown cowboy shape. This is easily Hand Bashed into many styles! This could easily steam shaped into an Open Road, Telescope Crown (with or without a pinched crown), Cowboy Fedora or Standard Fedora. We just don’t do any Curled Brims anymore, we don’t have the hands to do that due to our ages.This is not one of Dad’s hats but actually belongs to his Grandson.After taking pictures outside we could see some very minor dust still on it. Dad tried to clean up better with his stiffer horsehair brush but it’s still there. See pictures. One of Dads hat collectors thinks it maybe could be cleaned up better with one of those Orange Cleaning Sponges but Dad refuses to change the way he works hats! So we will not say it can be cleaned up better since we just don’t know if these work well or if that can be cleaned. It’s very minor and folks just won’t see it when it’s worn. Dad and Grandson always does their very best to make each hat as best as possible. Also Dad thinks by using that sponge it will be hiding something. We saw NO MOTH BITES! Size states 7-1/4 but measures to a 7-1/4+, just a fraction over a perfect size 7-1/4 by about 1/8 of an inch. The size tag fell off but we re-attached it. This could be stretched though to a 7-3/8 at the maximum or darn close to it because the leather sweatband is still soft and pliable. Many buyers have used an inexpensive $15 Amazon Hat Stretcher getting excellent results. It just takes time and patience! It can take days to weeks to stretch a hat correctly and keep the stretch in the leather sweatbands memory. Dad always uses some Glove Oil before stretching a hat. Applies Glove Oil to the leather sweatband, allows it to completely absorb and repeats this a second time and then starts stretching it. Never stretch when Glove Oil is still wet! We filled the picture gallery so you can see every detail, we hid NOTHING. This was worn but very rarely and then stored away. You can see that the hat is from the EARLY 1950s by the “1/4” (not 7-1/4) Key-Hole size tag and the liner has that very thin plastic liner cover.The color is SilverBelly and The picture of the whole underside is the best representation. This is Stetson 3X Beaver, these True Vintage 3X Beaver is NOTHING like todays or post 1960s 3X Beaver! The newer ones are just so stiff and hard to hand bash. Any new hat that you buy cannot be compared to these original Beaver Stetson hats! They just don’t make hats like this anymore! So this is NOT a HATCO manufactured hat! This was manufactured by the original John B. Stetson Company! Note: that very large oval Stetson hat box is just for display only. It’s out of Dads own collection, he just thought it looked great in the picture. That would have been what he thinks was the original box? Dad did find an empty 1930-1940s Heavy Red Cardboard hat box. It has no hat holding insert set though. Dad and I made a center stack for a hat holding insert. Functionally perfect, see pictures. Most want to wear the hat all the time and don’t need or want a hat box. Shipping this LARGE stetson hat box will require a LARGE a shipping box! It’s a BIG HAT BOX! The straps are not leather, but they are well attached and the buckle set operates perfectly. Ok now the particulars There is a tag stating size “7-1/4” tag but this measures to a 7-1/4+ at 22-7/8 inches. So this is 1/8 of an inch larger than a perfect 7-1/4. A perfect size 7-1/4 at 22-3/4 inches and a perfect size 7-3/8 is 23-1/8 inches. If you wear a perfect 7-1/4 you may write to ask if Dad still has any thick soft felt strips that he can add to the shipping box that you can install under the leather sweatband. But you can buy these in any fabric store. We DO NOT alike the new FOAM hat reducers. They just don’t seem as comfortable as these thick felt strips. And like always we measure each hat 3 times using different methods to verify the actual size!
