Description: A vintage handmade and hand painted bowl by Dolores Porras, the innovative Zapotec potter from the small village Santa Maria Atzompa, Oaxaca, Mexico. Decorated with four iguanas in relief, and painted and glazed in colors from nature, this is truly a stunning piece of folk art. It is unsigned. Size is 10.25 diameter x 2.25 inches high. This is an authentic piece by Dolores Porras, purchased by me in 1988 from a folk art gallery in Philadelphia. I am selling a number of items from Latin America, primarily Mexico, for my dad who is downsizing and was quite a collector, so please take a look at my other listings.
